HTML websites verses CMS websites

In the beginning the creation of websites were designed by an exclusive group of people who understood how to write HTML code.  They became known as web designers.

Example of HTML code

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<body>

<h1>My First Heading</h1>

<p>My first paragraph.</p>

</body>
</html>

The text highlighted in bold is the text that will be displayed on the page but the rest will be invisible.

<h1>TEXT APPEARS HERE</h1>

Web content that is seen online on a web page (front-end)  can appear swamped by HTML code when seen from the (back-end).

Being able to find the areas  to add and update content within HTML can be very confusing even to professional web designers due to the sheer amount of code that can seen from the back-end.
